LUXEMBOURG, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- The first overseas green bonds with total value of 500 million euros (581 million U.S. dollars) issued by China Construction Bank(CCB) have been formally listed on the Luxembourg Green Stock Exchange this weekend.

Luxembourg Finance Minister Pierre Gramegna, Chinese Ambassador to Luxembourg Huang Changqing, Luxembourg Stock Exchange CEO Robert Scharfe and CCB Europe Chairman Peng Gang all attended the opening ceremony on Friday.

In his speech, Gramegna said that in the field of green finance, China is a global leader while Luxembourg has all the forces and know-how it needs in the development of green financial markets. He stressed that China Construction Bank and the Luxembourg exchange should continue to cooperate and together become a pioneer in the field of green finance.

Peng said that Luxembourg is a global financial center and radiates at the major financial markets in Western Europe. Currently, more than 50 percent of the world's green bonds are listed on the Luxembourg Green Exchange.

The issuance and listing of the CCB Euro Green Bond will help the CCB at the European capital market, he said.
