JERUSALEM, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- Palestinian property was vandalized amidst a suspected Israeli hate crime attack in the West Bank early on Sunday morning, Israel's police said.

The incident took place in al-Mughayyir town, northeast of Ramallah city.

Pictures released by the Israeli police showed several vandalized cars, with their tires slashed. Hate graffiti were spray-painted on some cars and walls.

An investigation was launched, but no suspects have been arrested yet.

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said in a statement that police and military units "will enter the area to examine the incident."

The vandalism was the latest in a surge of racist attacks by ultra-nationalist Israelis over the past months in the Israeli-occupied West Bank and in Israel.

Overnight between Thursday and Friday, vehicles were vandalized and hate-graffiti were spray-painted in the village of Asira al-Kabaliyeh in the Nablus area.

Similar incidents took place in two separate locations in East Jerusalem, where car tires were slashed and slogans of racist graffiti were found on the walls of some buildings.

Far-right Israelis have carried out thousands of attacks over the past years. The attacks include violence against Palestinians in the West Bank and Israel and vandalism of mosques, churches, cemeteries, and personal property. Most of the incidents remain unsolved as the law enforcement authorities usually fail to arrest and charge any suspects.
